Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Budgivo: Expense Tracker (the “App”) handles information when you use the Android application and related services.

1. Information the App handles

Financial records you provide

The App lets you record information such as accounts, balances, income, expenses, transfers, budgets, bills, debts, goals, paychecks, categories, recurring items, rules, and receipt metadata. Financial records are stored locally on your Android device. The current cloud account service is used for authentication and does not upload these financial records.

Account information

If you create an account, the App processes your email address, user identifier, authentication session information, and related security or account-recovery information through Supabase.

Purchase information

If you buy the one-time Pro upgrade, Google Play processes the payment. The App may process a product identifier, purchase token, purchase status, and account association to verify and restore your entitlement. The App does not receive your full payment-card details.

Advertising and consent information

The free version may display advertising supplied by Google AdMob and Unity Ads through AdMob mediation. Depending on your region, device settings, and consent choices, these advertising services may process device or advertising identifiers, approximate location inferred from network information, ad interactions, diagnostics, and consent signals. You can revisit available advertising privacy choices from the App’s settings. Watching a rewarded ad is optional and can unlock the selected month’s advanced report for that report session; it does not change your financial records.

Backups, notifications, and biometrics

Encrypted backups are saved only to the location you select. The App does not store or recover your backup passphrase. Reminders are scheduled locally. If you enable biometric app lock, Android performs authentication; the App does not receive or store biometric templates.

2. How information is used

  • To provide budgeting, reporting, reminders, backup, account, and security features.
  • To authenticate accounts and support password recovery.
  • To verify, grant, and restore a Pro entitlement.
  • To show and measure advertising in the free version, subject to applicable consent choices.
  • To prevent fraud, protect the service, troubleshoot failures, and meet legal obligations.

3. Service providers

The App uses service providers that process limited information for specific purposes:

  • Supabase for authentication, account recovery, account deletion, and server-side purchase verification.
  • Google Play for application distribution and Pro purchase processing.
  • Google AdMob for advertising and advertising consent management.
  • Unity Ads as an advertising network through AdMob mediation. See Unity’s privacy policy.

These providers handle information under their own terms and privacy practices. We do not sell the financial records you enter in the App.

4. Your choices and controls

  • You can use privacy mode to obscure sensitive amounts on screen.
  • You can change available advertising privacy choices in the App’s settings.
  • You can decline optional permissions or change them in Android settings, although a related feature may then be unavailable.
  • You can export an encrypted backup to a location you choose.
  • You can delete local information and request deletion of your account and server-held data.

See the Account Deletion page for detailed instructions.

5. Data retention and deletion

Local financial records remain on your device until you delete them, clear the App’s storage, or uninstall the App. User-selected backup files remain wherever you saved them until you delete them.

Account and authentication data is retained while your account is active or as needed to provide and secure the service. A completed account-deletion operation may keep a de-identified operation receipt for up to 24 hours to support safe retries. Limited records may be retained longer when required for security, fraud prevention, purchase records, dispute resolution, or law.

6. Security

We use safeguards designed to protect information, including HTTPS for supported server communication, owner-scoped access controls, authenticated deletion, and passphrase-based authenticated encryption for exported backups. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

7. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so the matter can be reviewed and appropriate action taken.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the App, service providers, or legal requirements change. The current version will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date.
